"Back in September 99 Illusion
held its first event at the void nightclub with the aim
of providing a quality old skool event, in a safe and
friendly environment and injecting a much-needed shot
of life into stokes underground music scene. After 2 events
at the void, which saw, small but eager crowds of partygoers,
a venue change was made, as club Metz in Newcaste became
their new home. On the 21st November 2001 Illusion
Finally had their break as the Shellys reunion party with
DJ's such as Daz Willot, Swan-E and Easygroove attracting
a capacity crowd by 11 o'clock leaving disappointed clubbers
turned away at the door.
The word was spreading and capacity
crowds forced another venue change, this time to the massive
Keele university complex. Illusion had gone from a small
dub night to a national event with crowds travelling from
as far as London, Skegness and Scotland to check out the
happy atmosphere that is rooted in stokes history through
clubs like Shellys and Entropy and believe us still exists
today.
The night has grown that successful
that the Keele complex nights now boast 5 arenas with
a different musical format in each old skool, house, hardcore,
drum and bass and the full spectrum providing something
for everyone, whatever the age group. However the best
is yet to come as a massive indoor - outdoor event is
planned for October / November to celebrate 5 years of
Illusion
watch this space!!
Alex and Stacey would like to thank
everyone who has supported and made Illusion what is today.
Thank you!!" |
